Matthew C. Kostmayer

Matthew C. Kostmayer brings strong financial services and insurance focused executive search consulting experience to Columbia Consulting Group.  He rejoins our firm having spent the past decade managing Kostmayer Associates, a three-generation old boutique firm specializing in the insurance, annuity, asset management, and retirement sectors of the financial services industry.  His assignments include the recruitment of distribution executive talent (wholesaler, field sales management and support, national accounts, marketing), as well as, back-office (compliance, controlling) and staff (legal, finance, human resources).

In his previous role with CCG, Matt conducted research and consulting assignments in the financial services, health care, and manufacturing industries.  Matt is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he served as a legal intern for a Maryland law firm and as a Congressional intern in Washington, D.C.  He also obtained his NASD Series 6 license, in addition to Life, Accident, and Health Insurance licenses.  Matt also serves on the Advisory Board of the Parks and People Foundation for over a decade.

What do you enjoy most about the search industry?
“The people you get to meet, as well as the team building aspect of the job keep it interesting. I enjoy the challenge of finding good cultural fits between client and candidates.”
When you are not working, what do you?
“When I’m not on the courts playing squash, I like participating in marathons and local 5k runs. My passion is my volunteer work in the community restoring our neighborhoods and the natural resources therein, and encouraging the next generation to get invested through youth programs.”
